A Faith-inspiring Picture Book for Children by Bestselling Author Francis Chan
From bestselling author Francis Chan (Crazy Love and Forgotten God) comes a picture book for children 4 to 8, Halfway Herbert. Halfway Herbert never completes anything. Homework remains half done, his room stays only partly clean, and dinner is never finished. Halfway Herbert somehow gets by. But when he tells a half-truth, he learns the importance of honesty and of following God with all his heart.
Through Chan's trademark teaching and storytelling, children discover what living for God really means. Halfway Herbert offers parents a practical tool for inspiring godly character. Parents will appreciate that Chan, a father of four, understands the character development issues parents face. And fans of his previous books will treasure lessons geared especially for children.

On the fourth day, God made the sun. . . . And the rest is history! Jump at the Sun is pleased to present two stories of Biblical proportions in its new Bible Classics series. God Made the World allows young readers to experience His love for His ultimate creation, the children! And Noah Builds an Ark, always a favorite with kids, is told in pleasing rhyme, as animals come to the ark, "just as God told them to. They came by the hundreds, two by two. Two by two."

Coleman and his little sister, Shelby, are at the doctor's office waiting to get their booster shots. Shelby is shaking with fear. She and everyone else remembers it took five people (and several bruises) to hold her down the last time. Coleman fumes while he waits to go first. He' ll show her that there's nothing to be afraid of. Girls, in his opinion, are such wimps!
As Coleman steams about in anger and impatience with Shelby, he pulls his sock buddies out of his backpack and his faithful friend, Sockrates, reminds Coleman of the story of Esther. She was a girl who was extremely brave and when God needed her to stand up and do what was right, she did it. Coleman admits that not all girls are chicken, and Shelby, who ends up going first, learns that she can be brave too.

Coleman and his backpack full of sock buddies are at the park during school recess when Francis "the bully" teases Coleman for praying before his snack. Coleman is embarrassed, denies praying, and goes back to playing. His sock buddies, however, remind him of the story of Noah.
Noah's neighbors thought he was definitely not cool--and maybe even crazy--to spend decades building a boat on dry land. But Noah did it anyway because he wanted to do what God told him to. Coleman learns that what God expects from us isn't always considered cool, but He asks us to do it all the same. In the end Coleman decides to keep praying . . . adding Francis to his prayer list.

Coleman does not want to go to his great-grandma Ruth's 90th birthday dinner. He'd rather go with his friends to Stinkee Cheese's, Home of the Limburger Cheese Pizza and Skeeball-O-Rama. When Coleman is sent to his room to ponder his selfishness, Sockariah reminds him of a woman from the Bible with the same name as his great-grandma Ruth. This beautiful young lady had a choice to ditch her mother-in-law or to stay with her. Her choice to stay pleased God and He blessed her. Coleman, Sockariah points out, needs to make a choice . . . to cheese, or not to cheese. That is the question.
