Ft. Worth-based singer-songwriter Kyle Sherman recently signed on as the flagship artist to brand new label RayLynn Records, an opportunity that presented itself during a time period when a record deal wasn't even on his radar.
"It's crazy how God works," Kyle says. "Five years ago, I pushed pretty hard to do my own thing as a singer-songwriter, but every well I approached would dry up. It clearly wasn't the right time." So Kyle continued on a path of leading worship, taking on a full-time role as worship leader at Lifechurch.tv's Ft. Worth campus under the leadership of renowned pastor/author Craig Groeschel.
Just three years later, Kyle made it back to Nashville, pouring his heart into a microphone at a Sony studio with veteran producer and country singer-songwriter Mark Collie making his first album. God is faithful. Hear Me, the result of those sessions, is an eclectic and authentic mix of rootsy, southern soul.
RayLynn Records is founded by Major League Baseball's Texas Rangers owners Bob and Janice Simpson.

There comes a time in every artist's career where they need to re-imagine, re-invigorate, and dream it all over again. For Third Day, that time was in the fall of 2011. Their touring was never better, their album Move was successful, the fans we super-engaged, and yet they felt it was time to shake things up. As they prepared to write and record their 16th album, Miracle, the band hired legendary producer Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, The Fray, Train) to help them forge a new sound. From the opening track, "Hit Me Like A Bomb", it is clear that Third Day means business when they say they want to bring something new to the table.
Musically, there are sounds that have never been on a Third Day album including layered guitars, layered harmonies, and sing-a-long gang vocals. Music styles range from pulsating rock to acoustic pop-rock, yet the classic Third Day sound everyone loves is still there but refreshed and rejuvenated. Lyrically, the themes are relevant for our culture today. Songs about pressing on in difficult times (Your Love Is Like A River, I Need A Miracle), praying for change (Hit Me Like A Bomb, Believe In Something), and hope for better times (The Victory, Take Me Back).
The first single, "I Need A Miracle" goes for adds September 17th and will be supported with promo tours to radio and retail. Third Day will headline a major Spring 2013 tour and play all major summer festivals. Five-time Dove Award winners Group 1 Crew have come through a handful of challenges over the past few years as they have been preparing their new album Fearless. This lyric, taken from the song "Get Up Get Out", off of Rhett Walker Band's debut album, Come To The River, is one of several clues that this is not going to be your typical Christian music band or album.
