Sheree Plett is a fresh young artist whose songs and performances have been captivating audiences both in the large and busy music scene of Minneapolis, Minnesota, as well as the incredibly active smaller city environment of Abbotsford, BC. Her naturally beautiful voice wraps itself around the deeply personal, poetic lyrics, creating a very organic sound that gives expression to a wide range of human emotion.
She first started playing acoustic guitar in high school in Minneapolis. After that, Sheree joined a traveling music ministry team run by CTI Music Ministries, based out of Willmar, Minnesota. There she spent 12 months on the road, singing and playing in schools, colleges, prisons, and churches throughout the United States, Denmark, and Burkina Faso in Africa. It was during her time with CTI that Sheree first began to explore the world of songwriting.
Sheree then enrolled in a Bible college in Abbotsford, studying missions and music, while continuing to grow as a singer/songwriter, playing in local coffee shops whenever time allowed. She joined "Souled Out", a youth-oriented music and drama ministry team run by the college, and spent two years with them, contributing songs to two recording projects for the team and embarking on two spring tours through western Canada.
In September of 2003, Sheree returned to Abbotsford to record
Hold Still, her first full-length solo album, with friend and producer Steve Klassen.
While staying within the singer/songwriter folk genre, Sheree's music explores a variety of palettes, from light piano or guitar ballads to full band arrangements. Sheree has put together a first-rate work that speaks poetically of life, love, hope, redemption, and faith.
Sheree also sings with her husband's band
Eisenhauer.
