With their second release, TFK scraps their rap-rock sound for a more punk sound.
Musically, TFK has never sounded better. More distortion, more control over their instruments, and a tighter sound. While there are no guitar solos, there are some really good riffs. Trevor manages to have enough distortion to his guitar to give the sound of two guitars, even though there is one. Joel's bass can be clearly heard, keeping this insanely catchy, and insane album, together. He doesn't outshine anybody though. He's noticeable, but it doesn't keep you concentrated on it. Steve's drumming is a huge improvement over Set It Off. It's amazing at how much three years can change your band.
Vocally, there is no mistaking this is Thousand Foot Krutch. However, the rapping is gone. It's almost pop punk vocals, minus the whinnyness. Trevor screams on this album, something that was not on their previous album. It's not hardcore screaming, or even screamo screams though. It's hard to describe. There are also some dark singing in this album, singing that is barely audible (this is really noticeable in the song Bounce).
