Soulsville: Rock this House is the second CD of the
Soulsville trilogy. This recording has a full horn line with lush Hammond B3, giving it that Stax/Muscle Shoals sound. It is all things Southern, with the day-to-day stories of life and survival, with positive encouragement. This particular recording has influences by Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker,
Blind Boys, Solomon Burke, Sam Cooke, Bobby Blue Band, Otis Redding, and
Hank Williams.
"It has been my pleasure and privilege to work with some of the music industry's finest on
Rock this House, and we sincerely hope that you will enjoy this intensive labor of love that went into making this record. From past to present, all who I have been honored in meeting and working with have left their stamp on this recording: The legendary Memphis producer Jim Dickinson, Bluesman Brownie McGee, Toronto's own musician/producer Richard Bell, longtime roadwarrior/bassist Dennis Pinhorn, and my big band
The Rockin' Revelators."

Rock this House is a blazing hot record, loaded with deep grooves, propelled by an irresistible pulse, heated by Muscle Shoals and Delta sweat, and bursting with songs that unfold yarns of faith, trial, sorrow, peace, redemption, and above all, love. Brooks' fierce growl had never sounded more real than it does on this stunning recording, easily his finest effort, and deserving of Big Time attention." -- Greg Quill, Toronto Star
