In June of 1978, Phil Keaggy entered the Hedden West Studio in Schaumberg, Illinois to record his first instrumental record. Later that year, through NewSong Records, he released The Master and the Musician to critical acclaim, making lifelong fans out of tens of thousands of people throughout the world. This legendary recording has been talked about so much, and is a favourite to so many fans, that it has reached near mythical proportions throughout the music community.

In recent years, many have been in search of this album or the 1988 re-issue, only to find them out of print; that is, until now.
