Staff Recommendation:
How would an upper-middle-class Christian family adjust to a global disaster that leaves everyone without electricity, running water, supplies, transportation, and communication? And what could cause something like that? Reading this book, I couldn't help but wonder how an event like that would affect my life - it made me very grateful for what I have, and the peace and safety I currently enjoy. Even long after I finished reading it, I found myself asking, "What if I turned on the tap and nothing came out, ever again? How would I cook my food? Where would I get food?" Very thought-provoking! I think that any adult would enjoy and benefit from reading Last Light. And, unlike a lot of other series, it doesn't leave you hanging at the end, although you will look forward to Book #2!
